Theater ASOU performs ...
2009
In many ways 2009 is a year of preparations after a busy 2008.
There is a lot of work being done in the background for 3 different theatre projects.
Nevertheless we are re-staging
the small i am i with a slightly new cast. After having performed it for more than 350 times during the last 10 years it is still a lot of fun for both: the audience and the company ...
Workshop with Catherine Coray
29.06. – 03.07.2009 in Graz/Austria.
In this five-day workshop we will explore individual creativity, using elements to which we respond as performers and writers--music and other sounds, objects, clothing, text, the environment and other stimuli--as a way of generating original work and deepening one’s experience of performing. Approaches will include structured improvisations, exercises in “body-writing”, physical and vocal release work, exploration of text through physical action, and repetition - working indoors and outdoors.

Based on the narration „The thirtieth year“ of the very influential Austrian authoress Ingeborg Bachmann (1923-1973) „The 33rd Year - playing life“ is a parable about our daily self-dramatizations. In the text of the play the borders between reality and appearance break down – as in real life - reality and theatre intertwine, and the actor changes roles with the audience, no matter if the persons concerned agree or not.
